How it works

How to read AION 2 Steam charts

Start with the current reading, then add history and official context.

1

Read the count and time

The card above shows a successful reading from the official Steam API. Check its collection time, especially if an update is marked delayed.

2

Open the historical charts

Follow the SteamDB link for the released AION 2 app, 3393110. Use its recorded history and peak dates to put a single reading in context.

3

Check what happened

Read official announcements for maintenance, launches and updates. Compare similar times of day before interpreting a short dip as a lasting change.

Features

Useful numbers, with the context that matters

A timestamp you can check

Each count carries the time this site collected it. Refresh checks never turn an old reading into a new one, and a failed request is never shown as zero.

The right game and app

Source links use the released AION 2 app. The Playtest and the original AION have different App IDs and are clearly separated.

A clear population measure

This is Steam concurrency: players simultaneously active and connected to Steam. It cannot show total population across launchers or individual servers.

Use cases

When to check the AION 2 player count

Check today’s activity

See a recent Steam reading without finding the game in a list. Use the historical source to compare repeated patterns across the day.

Plan a return to Atreia

Look at trends alongside updates and your own server’s activity. Steam numbers alone cannot predict dungeon queues, trading activity or group availability.

Investigate a sudden dip

Check maintenance and service notices before drawing a conclusion from a low count. A source error, valid zero and scheduled outage are different situations.

How this page gets the current Steam count

We request the current player count for App ID 3393110 from the official Steam GetNumberOfCurrentPlayers API. A valid response can be zero. A failed request or invalid response is shown as an unavailable update, rather than a zero-player reading.

The latest successful response is cached for about five minutes. An open, visible page checks for updates at the same interval; you can also check manually. The timestamp is when this site collected the response, rather than the moment each player joined. Steam’s own count can also be cached, so this is a recent reading rather than a second-by-second feed.

This page does not collect a historical series. For historical charts, daily patterns and recorded peaks, use AION 2 on SteamDB. See the SteamDB methodology FAQ for sampling, refresh frequency and peak-record limitations.

Steam population and the wider AION 2 community

Steam measures players active in this app and connected to Steam. AION 2 also supports PURPLE, so this number does not cover the whole game community. It cannot be split into individual servers, and it does not measure distinct daily players or retention.

If you are deciding whether to start or return, check trends over several days, official updates, and the activity on your intended server at your usual play time. An incomplete day’s peak should not be compared as if it covered the same full day as yesterday.

Launch and maintenance context

Selected official notices reviewed on October 7, 2026. These are dated context, not a live server-status feed. Use the latest official announcements for current service conditions.

Global commercial launch

The official announcement confirmed launch at 06:00 PDT / 15:00 CEST. Earlier Advanced Access activity belongs to a separate period.

FAQ

AION 2 Steam charts FAQ

What does the AION 2 Steam player count measure?

It measures people currently active in the AION 2 Steam app, ID 3393110, and connected to Steam. It does not include every player using PURPLE, identify individual servers, or measure daily and monthly active users.

Is AION 2 the same Steam app as AION Free-to-Play?

No. AION 2 uses App ID 3393110. The older AION Free-to-Play uses 261430, and the AION 2 Playtest uses 4972320. A zero count for the Playtest after a test ends does not describe the released game.

Why can the player count suddenly fall to zero?

A valid zero can coincide with maintenance or a service interruption. A failed API request is a different state: this page marks an unavailable or delayed update and retains the last successful reading. Check the official announcements before interpreting a short dip as a change in interest.

Can Steam charts tell me whether AION 2 is dead?

Steam concurrency is one signal of activity. It cannot tell you how many people use other launchers, how populated your server is, or how quickly you can find a group. Compare repeated patterns and official events, then check the server and time of day you plan to play.

Why can peaks differ between data websites?

Sites can begin tracking at different times and sample at different intervals. A site can miss a brief high point. This page links to SteamDB for historical peaks; check each provider’s tracking period and methodology before comparing records.

Does concurrent player count equal daily active users?

No. Concurrency counts simultaneous activity at a particular time. Daily active users count distinct people across a day. Neither daily active users nor retention can be calculated reliably from these samples alone.

Where is the correct AION 2 SteamDB page?

Use SteamDB’s charts page for App ID 3393110. The source links on this page point to the released game and separately label the Playtest. SteamCharts coverage can differ; a missing page there is not evidence that the game has no players.
